Huge Exhibit Hall! Parents and teens are invited to attend the 24th Annual Home Educators Convention on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4, 2009. This year’s theme is “Restoring A Biblical Legacy.” Keynote SpeakersKen Ham Since moving to America in 1987, Australian Ken Ham—president and founder of Answers in Genesis-U.S. and the new highly acclaimed Creation Museum has become one of the most in-demand Christian conference speakers and talk show guests.Each year Ken gives numerous faith-building talks to tens of thousands of children and adults on such topics as the reliability of the Bible, how compromise over biblical authority has undermined society and the book of Genesis. At our Convention in 2009, Ken Hamm will also talk about the Legacy of the Family. Doug Phillips Doug Phillips is the founder and director of Vision Forum a discipleship and training ministry that emphasizes Christian apologetics, world-view training, multi-generational faithfulness, and creative solutions whereby fathers can play a maximum role in family discipleship. He is a passionate communicator with a heart for home education and the restoration of Christian family and culture to the glory of God. As a constitutional attorney, Doug served six years at Home School Legal Defense Association and as Director for the National Center for Home Education. Doug and his wife, Beall, have eight children – Joshua, Justice, Liberty, Jubilee, Faith Evangeline, Honor, Providence, and Virginia Hope. They live in San Antonio, Texas. Workshops Numerous workshop choices on a wide range of topics of interest to homeschooling parents will be offered each day. Whether you are a new homeschooler just getting started, or a veteran preparing your students for college, you will find many workshops to met your needs.

Chris Hogan will encourage us to develop the full potential of the home and what is The True Measure ofSuccess.John Stonestreet Executive Director of Summit Ministries will return to give the complete three-part teaching on Biotechnology. Cheryl Cook of Heavenly C Publishers will minister to moms on how to order their priorities. Julie Hiramine from Generations of Virtue will speak of the dangers of media in our children’s lives. Woody Robertson will continue teaching on ways to get your education cheaper and faster. James and Karen Stobaugh will speak on SAT preparation and teaching elementary and high school composition. Kathleen Lawler from Activities for Learning will speak on The Right Start to Critical Thinking in Math and Math Card Game Thrills vs. Math Drills. Debby Freeland and Kathy Balke will return to encourage parents to begin homeschooling inHomeschooling 101. Ray and John Notgrass from Notgrass Company will teach on America’s Heritage of Faith. Support Group Leaders: John and Wanda Gibert, homeschool leaders from Illinois will give a special workshop for all Support Group Leaders. Teen Workshops: There will be many workshops especially for teens and parents of teens.
